Turkish stock exchange down 3.73% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 4,811.45 points, down rapidly by 3.73% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 5,003.68 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 186.35 points compared to the previous close of 4,997.80.

The index's lowest value during the second transaction day was 4,811.45, while its daily high was 5,004.99.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.91 trillion Turkish liras ($205.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 54 billion Turkish liras ($2.82 billion).

During the day, five stocks on the index rose and 95 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,986.9, while Brent crude oil sold for around $78.02 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT).
