Turkish stock exchange ends Tuesday flat

Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 3.53 points on second transaction day of the week

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 10,849.96 points, slightly down 0.03% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 10,886.52 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 3.53 points from Monday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 10,839.36, while its daily high was 10,899.90.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 10.1 trillion Turkish liras ($248.9 billion), with a daily trading volume of 91.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.26 billion).

During the day, 47 stocks on the index rose and 50 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,384.60, while Brent crude oil sold for around $67.75 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 40.6665, the euro/Turkish lira 47.1185, and a British pound traded for 54.1290 Turkish liras.
