Turkish stock exchange flat at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,716.77 points, down slightly by 0.05% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 9,753.97 points, lost 5.32 points from the midweek's close.

The lowest value of the index for the day was 9,664.45, while its daily high was 9,826.85.

Some 54 indices increased in value, while 45 declined as of the end of the day.

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.4920 as of 7.25 p.m. (1625GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.8985, and the GBP/TRY traded at 40.5830.

An ounce of gold was at $2,330.01, while a barrel price of Brent oil was around $87.45.
