Turkish stock exchange flat at Friday opening

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 9,927.42 points, slightly up by 0.06% or 6.02 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.17% to 9,921.40 points with a daily transaction volume of 85 billion liras ($2.50 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.9775 as of 9.52 a.m. (0652GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.8176, and the GBP/TRY rate was 44.5920.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,528.40, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $77.31.
