Turkish stock exchange flat at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,913.41 points, up slightly by 0.06% or 5.76 points versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index fell by 2.08% to 8,907.65 points with a daily transaction volume of 107 billion Turkish liras ($3.41 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 31.5980 as of 10.30 a.m. (0730GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.3190, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.0590.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,123.65, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $82.50.
