Turkish stock exchange flat at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,029.50 points, up slightly by 0.12 point versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.9% to 9,029.38 points with a daily transaction volume of 51 billion Turkish liras ($1.58 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.1720 as of 10.20 a.m. (0720GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.9345, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.6970.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,170.60, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $86.60.
