Turkish stock exchange flat at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,784.20 points, down 0.08% or 8.33 points over the previous close.

At Thursday's close, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.98% to 10.792,53 points, with a daily transaction volume of 123 billion liras ($3.82 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2400 as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.8770, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.9430.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,339.65, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $81.05.
