Turkish stock exchange flat at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Thursday at 9,762.37 points, marking a slight increase of 0.05% or 5.21 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index was slightly up by 0.09% to 9,757.16 points, with a daily transaction volume of 66 billion Turkish liras ($1.94 billion).

As of 10.20 a.m. (0720GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 34.0850, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.9170, while the GBP/TRY rate was 45.0480.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,517.77 and the price of Brent crude oil was around $77.60 per barrel.
