Turkish stock exchange flat at Wednesday open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 7,685.25 points, down slightly by 0.07%, or 5.5 points, from Tuesday’s close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 7,690.75 points, falling 0.6%, with a daily trading volume of 146.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0640 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.5790, while a British pound traded for 34.4370 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.50 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.4.
