Turkish stock exchange flat at weekly open

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 10,132.42 points, slightly down by 0.06%, or 6.55 points, from the previous close.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1.37% to close at 10,138.97 points with a daily trading volume of 71 billion liras ($2.21 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 32.4573 as of 10.43 a.m. local time (0743GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 34.9544, while a British pound traded for 41.2804 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.88 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,312.45.
