Turkish stock exchange gains 2.1% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 5,229.58 points, increasing 2.11 from the previous close.

Starting the day at 5,158.22 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 108.01 points compared to the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the fourth transaction day was 5,129.83, while its daily high was 5,230.70.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.35 trillion Turkish liras ($229.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 61 billion Turkish liras ($3.23 billion).

During the day, 90 stocks on the index rose and nine fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,921.4, while Brent crude oil sold around $73.42 per barrel as of 6.35 p.m. local time (1535GMT).
