Turkish stock exchange looking up at midweek open

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 7,834.91 points, up 0.65%, or 50.90 points, from previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 7,784.01, gaining 1.35%, with a daily trading volume of 114 billion liras ($4.22 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0381 as of 9.51 a.m. local time (0651GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.9975, and a British pound traded for 33.4056 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $93.47 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,951.25.
