Turkish stock exchange opens Friday on high note

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 8,191.37 points, a rise of 0.26%, or 21.48 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 8,169.89 points, up 0.98%, with a daily trading volume of 87 billion liras ($2.88 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.3093 as of 9.56 am local time (0656GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.8593, while a British pound traded for 38.4841 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.06 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,021.60.
