Turkish stock exchange opens Tuesday on high note

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,963.44 points, up 0.27%, or 21.71 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 7,941.73 points, gaining 2.92% with a daily trading volume of 174 billion Turkish liras ($6.55 billion).

The US dollar/lira exchange rate was at 26.5745 as of 9.57 a.m. local time (0657GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.7244, while a British pound traded for 33.5147 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $83.66 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,950.55.
