Turkish stock exchange rallies to record close on Thursday

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index rallied to a record close of 4,467.10 points on Thursday.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 2.43%, or 106.14 points from Wednesday's close of 4,360.96 points.

The index also saw an intraday record of 4,498.30 points on Thursday.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.6 trillion Turkish liras ($192.5 billion) at the close, with a trading volume of 105 billion liras ($5.64 billion).

The price of Brent crude oil was around $92.73 per barrel at 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), while an ounce of gold was $1,748.45.
