Turkish stock exchange up 1.54% at Monday's close

Benchmark index gained 173.59 points on 1st transaction day of the week

ISTANBUL (AA) -Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 11,468.07 points, up 1.54% from the previous close.

After starting the week at 11,533.23 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 173.59 points from Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 11,452.91, while its daily high was 11,540.66.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 10.65 trillion Turkish liras ($258.4 billion), with a daily trading volume of 165.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.99 billion).

During the day, 77 stocks on the index rose and 22 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,726.90, while Brent crude oil sold for around $65.95 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 41.3720, and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 48.7340, while one British pound traded for 55.8965 Turkish liras.
