Turkish stock exchange up at Friday open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7.803,71 points, up by 0.51%, or 39.24 points, from Thursday's close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended Thursday at 7,764.47 points, up 1.33%, with a daily trading volume of 133.7 billion Turkish liras ($4.9 billion)

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.1100 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.4720, while a British pound traded for 34.4660 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.05 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,922.40.
