Turkish stock exchange up at Friday's close

Benchmark BIST 100 index earns around 81 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Friday at 7,628.73 points, up by 1.07% versus the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 7,570.05 points, earned 80.89 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,532.16, while its daily high was 7,628.73.

Some 77 indices gained value, while 23 declined during the day.

The total transaction volume reached 70 billion Turkish liras ($2.34 billion), while the overall value of the index was 6.5 trillion Turkish liras ($218.5 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 29.8395 as of 18.305 (1505GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate was at 32.8150 and the GBP/TRY traded at 37.8950.

One ounce of gold was at $2,060.65, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $79.20.
