Turkish stock exchange up at open
Benchmark index gains some 51.7 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,652.36 points, up by 0.68%, or 51.71 points, from the midweek close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the day Wednesday at a record-high closing level of 7,600.65 points, up 2.54%, with a daily trading volume of 174.9 billion Turkish liras ($6.47 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0404 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.7370, while a British pound traded for 34.4400 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $87.70 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,951.50.
