Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7.675,06 points, up by 0.17%, or 12.8 points, from the midweek close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the day Wednesday at 7,662.26 points, down 0.37%, with a daily trading volume of 146 billion Turkish liras ($5.39 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.1010 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.5445, while a British pound traded for 34.5080 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $83.80 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,926.10.
