Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 8,142.06 points, gaining 0.63% or 51.16 points versus the previous close.

At Wednesday's close, the BIST 100 index was up 1.77% to 8,090.90 points, with a daily transaction volume of 89 billion Turkish liras ($2.95 billion)

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was at 30.2375 as of 10.05 (GMT0705), while the EUR/TRY rate was at 33.0510 and the GBP/TRY rate at 38.5225.

One ounce of gold was at $2,014.85, while a barrel price of Brent oil was around $80.30.
