Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,237.02 points, up by 0.28% or 28.37 points versus the previous close.

At Thursday's close, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.62% to an all-time high of 10,208.65 points, with a daily transaction volume of 130 billion Turkish liras ($4.01 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.4250 as of 10 a.m. (0700GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.8180, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.6755.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,298.90, and the barrel price of Brent oil around $83.80.
