Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 10,098.61 points, up by 0.42% or 42.63 points over the previous close.

At Monday's close, the BIST 100 index fell by 1.59% to 10,055.98 points, with a daily transaction volume of 93 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2395 as of 10.15 a.m. (0715GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.8195, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.4570.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,338.36, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $83.15.
