Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Tuesday at 10,161.67 points, marking a strong increase of 2.71% or 268.26 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 index dropped sharply by 5.54% to 9,893.41 points, with a daily transaction volume of 102 billion Turkish liras ($3.08 billion).

As of 10 a.m. (0700GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.2745, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.4840, while the GBP/TRY rate was 42.4645.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,404.11, and the price of Brent crude oil was around $76.70 per barrel.
