Turkish stock exchange up at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,296.00 points, up by 0.52%, or 37.46 points from Wednesday's close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 7,258.54 points on Wednesday, up 1.26%, with a daily trading volume of 117.3 billion liras ($4.3 billion)

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9830 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.4550, and a British pound traded for 34.2460 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.90 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,967.55.
