Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed at 5,447.23 points on Thursday, up 0.33%.

After starting the day at 4,858.21 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 18.11 points from Wednesday's close of 5,429.12.

The index also saw an intraday record of 5,515.67 points, while its lowest value was 5,398.43 during the day.

The price of an ounce of gold was around $1,804.30, while Brent crude oil was sold at around $82.31 per barrel as of 18.28 p.m. local time (1528GMT).

Earlier, the Turkish Central Bank announced that it kept interest rates unchanged at 9%, in line with market expectations.
