Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday close

Benchmark BIST 100 index earns around 34.5 points

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 7,299.33 points, up by 0.47% versus the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 7,303.30 points, earned 34.46 points from Monday's close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,202.88, while its daily high was 7,405.05.

Sixty-two indexes gained value, while 36 declined during the day.

The total transaction volume reached 60 billion Turkish liras ($2.06 billion), while the overall value of the index was 6.16 trillion Turkish liras ($211.06 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 29.3390 as of 18.30 (1530GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate was at 32.3590 and the GBP/TRY traded at 37.3135.

One ounce of gold was at $2,069.25, while barrel price of Brent oil was around $80.70.
