Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday open

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,094.73 points, up by 0.09%, or 7.49 points, from Monday's close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 8,087.24 points, up 0.76%, with a daily trading volume of 88 billion Turkish liras ($3.05 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9160 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.3480, and a British pound traded for 36.5315 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.15 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,051.75.
