Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 10,576.56 points, up by 0.19% or 19.76 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.5% to 10,556.80 points with a daily transaction volume of 115 billion liras ($3.57 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2260 as of 10.15 a.m. (0715GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.1190, while the GBP/TRY rate was 41.2445.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,337.40, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $77.60.
