Turkish stock exchange up at Wednesday open

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 8,184.04 points, up 0.30%, or 24.14 points, from Tuesday's close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 8,159.90, gaining 0.16%, with a daily trading volume of 146 billion liras ($5.41 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9287 as of 9.57 a.m. local time (0657GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.9398, and a British pound traded for 33.5256 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $92.27 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,932.15.
