Turkish stock exchange up at Wednesday's close
BIST 100 index earns 42.5 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 5,061.22 points, up by 0.85% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 5,026.36 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 42.52 points compared to the previous close.
The stock exchange will trade for half a day on Thursday and will be closed on Friday due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The market will re-open on Monday.
The index's lowest value during the third transaction day was 4,975.48, while its daily high was 5,093.06.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.2 trillion Turkish liras ($217 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 48 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
During the day, 60 stocks on the index rose and 36 fell compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $2,004.90, while Brent crude oil sold for around $83.7 per barrel as of 6.35 p.m. local time (1535GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.4010, the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.2580, while the British pound traded at 24.1301 Turkish liras.
