Turkish stock exchange up at weekly open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,794.74 points, up by 1.04% or 101.28 points versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.77% to 9,693.46 points with a daily transaction volume of 109 billion Turkish liras ($3.36 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.5975 as of 10.05 a.m. (0705GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.7650, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.3360.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,356.05, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $86.10.
