Turkish stocks close at new record high

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the first transaction day of the week at 4,570.20 points, up 2.57% from the previous close, hitting a new record high.

Starting the week at 4,451.86 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 114.67 points from the previous close of 4,455.53 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,332.95 points, while its daily high was 4,426.62.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,771.05, while Brent crude oil was around $95.11 per barrel as of 5.51 p.m. local time (1551GMT).
