Turkish stocks end Monday 2.54% down

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Monday down 2.54% to close at 86,282.54 points.

After starting the week at 88,628.65 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 2,250.85 points from 88,533.40 points at Friday's close.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,283.90 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1.288,60 at close on Friday.

The price of Brent oil was $71.39 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Monday -- with a day range of $70.31 to $72.58.
