Turkish stocks end Monday up 1.65%

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 1.65% to close at 100,087.79 points on Monday.

Starting the week at 99,267.44 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 1,625.06 points from 98,462.73 points at Friday's close.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,513.00 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,506.65 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was $59.34 per barrel as of 5.30 p.m. local time (1430GMT) on Monday -- with a day range of $58.03 to $59.47.
