Turkish stocks end Tuesday 1.61% down

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Tuesday down 1.61% to close at 91,482.45 points.

After starting the day at 90,801.28 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1,499.82 points from 92,982.27 points at Monday's close.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,279.85 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,282.70 at Monday's close.

The price of Brent oil was $70.03 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Tuesday -- with a day range of $69.39 to $71.36.

At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $53.
