Turkish stocks flat at Thursday open

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,991.94 points, slightly up by 0.06% or 4.91 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 7,987.03 points, falling 0.74%, with a daily trading volume of 84.6 billion Turkish liras ($2.93 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.8566 as of 10.03 a.m. local time (0703GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 31.5286, and a British pound traded for 36.0934 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.00 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,996.15.
