Turkish stocks go up at midweek close

BIST 100 index rises over 850 points from previous close; USD/TRY exchange rate stands at 5.7530

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.82% to close at 104,828.18 points on Wednesday.

Starting the day at 104,049.94 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 855.82 points from 103,972.36 points at Tuesday's close.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,455.60 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,465.35 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was around $62.37 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
