Turkish stocks open lower after previous session drop

ISTANBUL - Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 13,782.50 points, down 0.16%, or 21.71 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 fell 3.2% to close at 13,804.21 points. Daily trading volume totaled 222 billion liras ($5.07 billion).

As of 9.55 am local time (0655GMT), the US dollar traded at 43.8445 liras, the euro at 51.5825 liras and the British pound at 58.9995 liras.

An ounce of gold was priced at $5,023.60, while Brent crude oil traded at about $71.65 per barrel.
