Turkish stocks start week looking up
BIST 100 index rises nearly 850 points from previous close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 5.71

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the week up 0.86% or 849.05 points to open at 99,836.53 points on Monday.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1.29% to close the week at 98,987.48 points with a daily trading volume of 7 billion Turkish liras ($1.24 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.7100 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday -- down from 5.7150 compared to Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.2980, versus 6.3190, and one British pound traded for 7.0140 Turkish liras, compared to 7.0450, at the last close.
One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $62.16 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
Analysts said investors will follow the results of Turkey’s Central Bank (CBRT) and European Central Bank (ECB) meetings for interest rates set to be held on Thursday.
