Turkish stocks up 0.41 pct at opening

BIST 100 index up 379 points from Thursday's close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands at 5.5970

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 0.41 percent or 378.71 points to open at 92,499.04 points on Friday.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.29 percent and closed the day at 92,120.33 points with a daily trading volume of 11.6 billion Turkish liras ($2.08 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.5970 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared to 5.5610 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira rate was 6.3040, versus 6.3160 at Thursday's close, and one British pound was exchanged for 7.3370 Turkish liras, compared to 7.3070.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $67.27 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Friday.
