Turkish stocks up at midweek open
BIST 100 index gains 8.37 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,573.37 points on Wednesday, up 0.53% or 8.37 points from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index on Tuesday climbed 0.53% to close Tuesday at an all-time high of 1,565.01 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.3 billion Turkish liras (nearly $4.60 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.4500 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 7.4410 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly increased to 9.0400 from 9.0310, while one British pound traded for 10.1900 Turkish liras, up from 10.1580 at Tuesday’s close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $56.30 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
