Turkish stocks up at Monday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5.057,53 points on Monday, up 1.04%, or 52.23 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 3.08% to close Friday at 5,005.30 points, with a daily trading volume of 95.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.12 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6453 as of 10.09 a.m. local time (0709GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.6096, while a British pound traded for 22.7917 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.53 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,799.4.
