Turkish stocks up at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,697.61 points on Tuesday, up 0.64%, or 36.51 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.76% to close Monday at 5,661.10 points - all-time-high closing level - with a daily trading volume of 114 billion Turkish liras ($6.08 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.7270 as of 10.13 a.m. local time (0713GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.9511, and a British pound traded for 22.5875 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $86.16 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,847.95.
