Turkish stocks up at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 6,026.12 points, up by 0.37%, or 22.22 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 6,003.90 points, down 0.19%, with a daily trading volume of 109.8 billion Turkish liras ($4.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.0740 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.4160, and a British pound traded for 33.1320 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.73 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,929.35.
