Turkish stocks up at Thursday open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 6,354.92 points, up 0.20%, or 12.87 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 6,342.05 points, falling 0.33%, with a daily trading volume of 131 billion liras ($5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.1542 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.1731, while a British pound traded for 34.0255 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $80.33 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,967.
