Turkish stocks up at Thursday's close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 120,540.53 points, rising 0.41% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 120,000.39 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 491.8 points from the midweek close at 120,048.74 points.

An ounce of gold sold for $1,575.50 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, up from $1,566.40 at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil was $56.36 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Thursday, with a day range of $54.97 to $56.49.
