Turkish stocks up at Tuesday open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 5,034.07 points, up by 0.22%, or 11.28 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 5,022.79 points, up 0.21%, with a daily trading volume of 43 billion Turkish liras ($2.21 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 19.4186 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4256, while a British pound traded for 24.1890 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.56 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,004.75.
