Turkish stocks up at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5.212,58 points on Tuesday, up 0.37%, or 19.28 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 3.76% to close Monday at 5,193.30 points, with a daily trading volume of 134 billion Turkish liras ($7.19 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6438 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.6612, and a British pound traded for 22.8930 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.22 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,796.65.
