Turkish stocks up at weekly close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 4,984.86 points, up 0.28% from the previous close.

Starting Friday at 4,952.37 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 14.15 points compared to the Thursday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,925.56, while its daily high was 5,073.28.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4.04 trillion Turkish liras ($215.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 89.15 billion Turkish liras ($4.74 billion).

During the day, 54 stocks on the index rose and 44 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,915.10, while Brent crude oil was around $85.03 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).
